Chris & Shimi met at Guildford School of Acting twenty one years ago and have been making music together ever since. Together, they form the exciting musical Piano & Tenor duo – Tiano. They are delighted to return to Crazy Coqs with a brand new show following three sold out performances last year.

These two world class performers truly put the class into classical as they take the audience on a journey of musical styles from classical to popular. The genre “classical crossover” perfectly describes their style since everything they present is informed by a highly developed musicianship which impresses and never fails to entertain. One minute they present a passionate Puccini aria, the next they launch into a medley of 80’s hits, yet their eclectic programme makes perfect sense as they sweep the audience along with their energy, enthusiasm for music and amusing banter.

Tiano are becoming well known for their mash ups of familiar songs performed in perfect harmony and cleverly arranged by Chris on piano. The audience is utterly captivated as they interweave a soothing Chopin Nocturne with an American standard.

Chris is a multi award winning composer and lyricist. He also writes songs with Shimi, two of which were featured on TV last year. Tiano’s performances are so sophisticated, entertaining and engaging that when you watch them for the first time, you’ll kick yourself for not discovering them sooner!

Shimi Goodman“He’s a looker, a hoofer and BOY can he sing” (Whatsonstage). Shimi’s West End debut was as Akaash in the musical Bombay Dreams. He played Mary Sunshine in the musical Chicago alongside Brooke Shields and Christie Brinkley, was a featured singer in the original cast of the West End show Dirty Dancing and played the role of Che in Bill Kenwright’s production of Evita. He created the lead part of Samuel in the world premiere of Salt & Honey in Jerusalem. He also created the role of the Drag Queen in Sir Tim Rice’s production of From Here to Eternity which was screened in cinemas worldwide. Shimi appeared in A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Ragtime at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre and sang in front of the Spanish King Felipe VI in the Teatro Real Opera House, Madrid.Chris HamiltonChris started playing the piano at the age of four. He has performed in cabaret internationally from the House of Commons to Bangkok and has been described by New York critics as “the real deal” and “a total showman”. In the UK, The Daily Telegraph hailed him as “an ace pianist”. New York cabaret legend Steve Ross called him “a wizard on the keys” and Twiggy commented after one of his shows: “I haven’t heard the piano played like that in years”. In 2017 he appeared in A Spoonful of Sherman where he was regularly singled out by critics: “Star of the show is Chris Hamilton with his sparkling, pitch perfect accompaniment and occasional show stealers”. Also in 2017 he won the prestigious Silversea Guest Entertainer of the Year Award. The British Theatre Guide stated that “Hamilton is clearly a very gifted composer”.Together Chris & Shimi performed at a gala tribute to former Israeli president Shimon Peres at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane. They headlined a cabaret burlesque night at the Savoy Hotel and topped the bill at London’s Hippodrome. They perform regularly as headliners on luxury cruise ships and have been developing a successful online presence including producing the popular parody song “Viable” sung by West End star Dianne Pilkington. They recently opened the new season of entertainment at the beautiful Ingleside House in Cirencester, performed for the first time in Antarctica and have just shot a music video for their new song L’Ultima Donna.Book Nowtiano/https://www.brasseriezedel.com/events/chris-shimi-present-bravo-tiano/
