Chris & Shimi met at Guildford School of Acting twenty one years ago and have been making music together ever since. Together, they form the exciting musical Piano & Tenor duo – Tiano. They are delighted to return to Crazy Coqs with a brand new show following three sold out performances last year.
These two world class performers truly put the class into classical as they take the audience on a journey of musical styles from classical to popular. The genre “classical crossover” perfectly describes their style since everything they present is informed by a highly developed musicianship which impresses and never fails to entertain. One minute they present a passionate Puccini aria, the next they launch into a medley of 80’s hits, yet their eclectic programme makes perfect sense as they sweep the audience along with their energy, enthusiasm for music and amusing banter.
Tiano are becoming well known for their mash ups of familiar songs performed in perfect harmony and cleverly arranged by Chris on piano. The audience is utterly captivated as they interweave a soothing Chopin Nocturne with an American standard.
Chris is a multi award winning composer and lyricist. He also writes songs with Shimi, two of which were featured on TV last year. Tiano’s performances are so sophisticated, entertaining and engaging that when you watch them for the first time, you’ll kick yourself for not discovering them sooner!

In 2017 he appeared in A Spoonful of Sherman where he was regularly singled out by critics: “Star of the show is Chris Hamilton with his sparkling, pitch perfect accompaniment and occasional show stealers”. Also in 2017 he won the prestigious Silversea Guest Entertainer of the Year Award. The British Theatre Guide stated that “Hamilton is clearly a very gifted composer”.Together Chris & Shimi performed at a gala tribute to former Israeli president Shimon Peres at the Grosvenor House, Park Lane. They headlined a cabaret burlesque night at the Savoy Hotel and topped the bill at London’s Hippodrome.
